She was going to use it to make apple sauce, something she does right now using a different very labor-intense process. I thought that this gizmo would do the trick and reduce her sauce-making efforts to a tolerable level. She used the new Sauce Master once and the very next time she made apple sauce, she returned to her old tried and true method. She told me it doesn't work very well and is a real bear to clean. I also must comment on its construction which is rather flimsy. That doesn't matter a great deal in our situation since it probably won't see much use anyway. NOT impressed with this product.

An okay product but nothing to shout about., October 15, 2011 Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Norpro 1991 Sauce Master II (Kitchen) Generally I found the quality to be what I expect from "made in China." It functions pretty well but I am currently looking for something a little more "industrial." If you only do very light canning it will suffice. If, like me, you put up an entire winters worth of tomato sauce then look for something a little more sturdy. I don't expect this one to make it through the next harvest.
